  Jeremy’s typical week during the parliamentary session sees him in the constituency meeting constituents or attending local events on Mondays, Friday’s and Saturdays. He travels up to the Parliament on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. During recess he is based in Galashiels.

This was an actual day in Jeremy’s diary in 2005:

08.00 Breakfast at home in Galashiels.

09.00 Make phone calls to office in Parliament and check if there are any last minute changes to diary for the day and weekend ahead.

09.30 Drive to Peebles and put petrol in car (Jeremy does approximately 17,000 miles a year travelling around his constituency).

10.30 Meeting with the team running the UP2U scheme in Peebles to discuss youth issues, and in particular seeking longer term funding for youth groups in the Borders.

12.00 Drive to St Boswells from Peebles.

13.00 Meeting with leaders of NFUS Borders to discuss agricultural issues affecting the area. The meeting is with Michael Moore MP.

15.00 Leave St Boswells for the 1hr 10mins drive to Penicuik.

16.30 Penicuik Advice Surgery. Jeremy holds regular advice surgeries, most fridays from 4.30pm to 6pm. They are held in rotation in Selkirk, Galashiels, Penicuik and Peebles. Noappointment is necessary.

18.15 Drive from Penicuik to Peebles Hydro Hotel

19.00 Dinner and proposing toast to the Guildry Corporation of Peebles annual dinner.

23.00 Drive home, back to Galashiels after a busy day.
