Post office campaign
The number of local post offices in the Borders has fallen by 20% over the past ten years and Jeremy has been campaigning to protect the network from a further proposed threat of closures this autumn.
He has arranged meetings with post office and council bosses to argue for the retention of the network that deliveres vital local services as well as point of community contact.
As part of the work Jeremy has been in regular contact with local community councils and community groups keeping them informed of his work and the need to provide full support for the existing network of sub post offices.
In areas where postal services are under threat, he is seeking assurances that both central and local government services can be delivered.
